Tinies (0-2 years)
The baby room provides ample room to crawl and explore in a safe and secure setting. We aim to provide a nurturing and homely environment in which your child's daily routineis followed as closely aas possible through close liaison with parents. Activities and experiences offered in this group are based on the Birth to Three matters framework to support children in their earliest years. Young children learn through bringing all their senses to bear on their surroundings. We offer a range of activities, which reflect this. Ratios of one adult to three children also allow staff to promote language development through talking, singing and periods of one-to-one play. We aim to give children a head start in all aspects of their development.
Toddlers (2-3 years)
The Toddlers have their own space in which to play, with free access to many activities such as crafts, small-world and role play. Messy, tactile play is also available on a daily basis. Here we also have a cosy room for naps and looking at books. Children are cared for in small groups on a 1:4 ratio, learning social skills alongside their physical and cognitive development. In this setting children become more confident and independent through their play. Again, activities and experiences offered in this age group are based on Birth to Three Matters, a framework to support effective practice which supports the all-round development of children in their earliest years.
Tops (3 years +)
As LEA recognised providers of Early Years Education, we have welcomed the coming of the Foundation Phase in Wales, and with it the recognition that the early years are the most vital. All planned activities are fun and exciting, ensuring that children enjoy their time here. Most importantly, while children are having fun they are also learning. Activity areas include sand/ wet play, cosy areas to enjoy books and computer activities. We have areas for imaginative small world and role play. Additionally, a full range of craft/ creative activities are always on offer. In Tops group, the children are cared for on a 1:8 ratio, with a qualified teacher leading the group. We use the full resources of the indoor and outdoor areas of the nursery and our surrounding locality, to enable the children to learn about the world around them.
