Tiny Beginnings at Whitchurch C.E. Primary school is a non-denominational Private Day Nursery based in the idyllic village of Whitchurch.

Our purpose-built modern nursery is bright, welcoming and purpose-built in 2010. It has a secure garden where children may opt at any time for outdoor play, as well as access (with close adult accompaniment) to the grounds and facilities of Whitchurch primary School, with its adventure trail, field and Forest! This enables us to maximise outdoor learning and the opportunity for children to learn from close quarters about seasonal changes in nature.

The garden and extended grounds of Whitchurch primary School are areas where children can experience the curriculum outdoors. Children experience the delights of growing their own vegetables for use at snack time, hunting for mini beasts, making dens to enhance role play, even making music in the outdoors. We also have a range of climbing and ride on equipment, and a host of other equipment used to promote children's need to explore their environment.

Forest School

Whitchurch CE Primary has its own designated 'forest' area in which to teach the children about forestry. We are very lucky in being able to use this space for nursery children to visit regularly.
Our children love their forest school times! We regularly sing our way there, investigate and learn about nature (complete with full outdoor suits) and talk enthusiastically about what we did on return. This is an invaluable learning tool and we are very privileged to be able to access it. View Gallery >

Bridget Reeves is a qualified teacher and her last role was as Primary schools' Music Coordinator for Caerphilly, South Wales. We regularly join the reception children in the school hall to sing, move and play percussion instruments. This helps aid transition to school, giving those moving on to Whitchurch a chance to meet the children they will be joining and those who maybe not the opportunity to see how a 'big school' looks and feels.
